Budget-friendly DIY stud earrings amp up your wardrobe with custom style. To assemble your own, you need only a few supplies and basic crafting skills. This tutorial features three stud earrings made with different materials: flat-back gems, shank buttons and charms with dangling chains.

Glue one earring post to the back of each flat-back gem.

Leave them to dry overnight.

Shank remover

Using the shank remover, cut off the loop from the back of the button.

Continue trimming until you have a completely flat surface.

Glue an earring post to the back of the button.

Repeat Steps 1 through 3 with the second button. Leave them to dry overnight.

Rotate the charms so the holes are on the bottom. Glue one earring post to the back of each charm.

Using the jewelry pliers, open a 4mm jump ring.

Add 4 to 6 strands of scrap chain.

Connect the jump ring to the charm. Close the jump ring.

Trim the ends of the chain to equal lengths.

Repeat steps 2 through 5 for the second earring.
