For an easy way to spice up your favorite shoes, try making these ruffled chiffon heels inspired by a $398 pair at Anthropologie. This DIY requires inexpensive materials and basic crafting skills. It’s a budget-friendly way to upgrade your wardrobe, just in time for your next outing.

Things You’ll Need

Fabric scissors
Hot glue gun
Chiffon fabric

Step 1
Cut a segment of chiffon measuring 4 inches wide and 13 inches long.

Step 2
Fold the fabric in half horizontally from left to right.

Step 3
Fold in half again.

Step 4
Continue folding in half until the segment is about 5 inches wide.

Step 5
Using fabric scissors, trim one raw edge into a half circle shape. Make sure to cut through all the layers at the same time.

Step 6
Unfold the fabric to expose the scalloped edge. Starting from the right side, create a small fold. Add a small dot of hot glue in between the folds to keep everything in place.

Step 7
Continue folding and gluing until you reach the center of the fabric.

Step 8
Repeat Steps 6 and 7 from the left side. The last fold will meet the right side’s folds in the center.

Step 9
Repeat Steps 1 through 8 two more times to create a total of three ruffled pieces.

Step 10
Hot glue one ruffled piece to the back of one shoe.

Step 11
Glue the remaining two pieces, layering each one on top of the other.

Repeat Steps 1 to 12 for the second shoe.
